When Becoming by Michelle Obama was published, I was interested in reading the former First Lady's life story. That interest grew when I started hearing rave reviews about it. One year ago, I made the trek to my local Barnes and Noble Booksellers and purchased the hardcover of Becoming . Within a couple of weeks, I started reading it but put it aside for awhile. Eventually, I picked it back up and began reading the autobiography again. I was not disappointed. I always knew that Michelle Obama was a very smart and classy lady just from listening to her speak and how she acted from television news stories, but I didn't realize how much so. Confessions on the 7:45 by Lisa Unger opens with a commuter train that has stalled and Selena Murphy striking up a conversation with another passenger named Martha. Martha admits that she's having an affair with her boss. Selena confesses that she thinks her husband is having an affair with the nanny. A few days later, Geneva, the nanny, disappears causing Selena's life to fall apart, and Selena begins to wonder just who Martha is. Several years ago when the movie trailer for  The Silver Linings Playbook came out, I knew I had to see the movie because it starred the actor Bradley Cooper. Be still my heart! But I knew that it was based on a book, and I am big on reading the book before seeing the movie, so I immediately ran out to Barnes and Noble Booksellers to buy the book without reading the synopsis like I typically do. This Matthew Quick novel was interesting to say the least, and it definitely wasn't what I was expecting. The writing and story of The Silver Linings Playbook was definitely reminiscent of Stephen Chbosky's The Perks of Being A Wallflower .
