Book Review: Takedown Twenty (Stephanie Plum, #20) by Janet Evanovich

Image
When Trenton's beloved mobster Salvatore "Uncle Sunny" Sunucchi goes underground after murdering a guy, Stephanie Plum is tasked with bringing him in for his court date. However, no one is willing to turn him in, especially not the Morelli family because Sunny is Joe Morelli's godfather. To top things of, Ranger has given Stephanie an assignment of his own . . . find the murderer of a client's bingo loving mother. Takedown Twenty (Stephanie Plum, #20) by Janet Evanovich was not one of my favorites. I'm not sure if it's because I've binge reading the series or not, but the book was a bit of a let down. With that being said, it did give me an escape from reality and held my attention well enough. One of the featured characters was a giraffe named Kevin that roamed the streets of Trenton, New Jersey. I found this to be a bit far fetched, especially when the reason why was given because it made it even more far fetched. Lula was also featured more heavily...

Book Review: Two for the Dough (Stephanie Plum, #2) by Janet Evanovich

Image
Two for the Dough (Stephanie Plum, #2) by Janet Evanovich is the second book in the Stephanie Plum book series. In this installment, Stephanie is given an easy case by her cousin Vinnie since she's still inexperienced . . . catch Joe Morelli's cousin, Kenny Mancuso. However, it won't be as simple as everyone thought because Morelli is also after Kenny. Although I thought the sequel was a lot better than One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, #1) , I still wasn't completely sold on the Stephanie Plum series, but the ending is what really made me want to keep reading the series and what made me bump up my rating. If you're looking for a serious, meaty mystery or thriller, this isn't the book for you. I consider it more of a light read, a beach read if you will, and I don't mean it in a bad way either. Two for the Dough (Stephanie Plum, #2) is a tad predictable, but it has its suspenseful moments and gives you a bit of humor and romance along the way. ...

Book Review: Eleven On Top (Stephanie Plum, #11) by Janet Evanovich

Image
A bit different from the ten previous books in the Stephanie Plum Series, Eleven On Top by Janet Evanovich is by far my favorite one by far . . . at least as of right now. The main character, Stephanie Plum, is a bounty hunter and has finally decided that she has had enough danger in her life. Stephanie quits on her cousin Vinnie, who runs the bails bonds office she works for in Trenton, New Jersey. As luck would have it, danger follows Stephanie from job to job, so Ranger offers her a desk job at his security company called Rangeman. I think one of the reasons I liked Eleven On Top so much is because it was changed up a bit from Stephanie always getting into the comical, over the top situations as a bounty hunter. Another reason is that Janet Evanovich is finally revealing more information on Ranger and making him seem more like a person. We also get to see Joe's personality a bit more and see how much he really does love Stephanie. He doesn't seem like such an...
