I was provided a copy free of charge in exchange for my honest review, and I was ecstatic about it because Chevy Stevens is absolutely one of my favorite authors and is a must read in my humble opinion. The story opens with Alice and Tom, who are husband and wife, taking their newly bought RV from Seattle, Washington and take a road trip through Canada where they will end up at the 1976 Olympics in Toronto. As they pull into their first stop of the trip, a campground, Alice and Tom see a young couple named Simon and Jenny walking in their direction and offer them a ride to the next town. However, the young couple aren't as they seem and take their hosts as their prisoners. Chevy Stevens, a Canadian author, does not disappoint with her latest novel aptly named The Hitchhikers . Immediately after finishing New Moon (Twilight, #2) by Stephenie Meyer, I apprehensively picked up Eclipse (Twilight, #3) and dove right into it. I was worried that it would read much like the book before, but I was pleasantly surprised about how it was much more enjoyable. Despite the fact the hardback version was 629 pages, I finished it within 1 to 1.5 days. I even took it to work with me so I could read on my lunch hour. I also stayed up to three or four o'clock in the morning to finish the book if that tells you anything. I love the fact that the worlds of vampires and werewolves are finally intertwined into one story unlike the previous two books where they were separated. There was a lot more action in this installment as well with Victoria wanting to avenge her mate and the Volturi coming to check up on the Cullens to make sure they held up their end of the bargain. Immediately upon finishing Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, I picked up my copy of New Moon (Twilight, #2) and began reading. I couldn't wait to see what happened next with Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. Unfortunately, New Moon ended up being my least favorite book of the entire Twilight series. That's not to say I didn't like it because I did. Because it was a building book, it seemed to move a lot slower than the preceding book, and that is why I didn't like it as much. Of all the books in the series, this one took me the longest to read at 2.5 to 3 days. And, that is interrupted reading because I had to work. Another thing that made me not like New Moon as much as Twilight was the fact that so much of it was about how heartbroken Bella was over Edward leaving her. Everyone goes through heartbreak when their significant other leaves them, but at a certain point, I just wanted to shake Bella and tell her to move on because it wasn't worth being so miserable...
