Bridal Shower Murder (Lucy Stone, #31)  by Leslie Meier  opens with Lucy Stone rushing home to clean house for Zoe who is bringing home her boyfriend Chad. While there, Zoe and Chad announce their engagement but want to keep it a secret for a bit.  When a nosy busybody named Janice gets the best of Lucy, the mother of the bride blurts out Zoe's secret. Chaos ensues with a murder and an overdose. NetGalley, thank you for approving me to receive an Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) of Bridal Shower Murder .  I've come to love Leslie Meier's Lucy Stone cozy mystery series and know that I will automatically read any book in this series without reading the synopsis. I have to say that this was one of the best stories in the series for multiple reasons. The first reason is that Lucy's husband isn't quite so sexist, which is refreshing for a change. Product Review: Calvin Klein Pop Top Fingerless Gloves

While window shopping at Macy's Department Store, I wandered into their Backstage department to have a look around. Not really having anything in mind that I really needed, I came across some Calvin Klein Pop Top Fingerless Gloves. There were two colors available, powder blue and mauve.

Checking the price, they were normally $34.00 and on sale for $11.99. With a cold front that had come into town that morning, I thought I should go ahead and purchase a pair as they would be great to wear the next day when I would be taking my morning walk. The low was supposed to be in the twenties. It was a tough decision, but I decided to go with the gloves in powder blue.

The next morning, I got dressed and put on my new Calvin Klein Pop Top Fingerless Gloves in powder blue. It was a brisk twenty-nine degrees Fahrenheit outside. What I loved about these gloves is that I was able to use my Fitbit App, and then cover my fingers with the top of the gloves that came unbuttoned, folded over my fingers, and created a mitten. My walk only lasted twenty-two minutes and was a little over a mile, but my fingers were kept toasty warm.

I was extremely happy with my purchase. So much so that I went back to Macy's to purchase another pair . . . this time in mauve. I seriously considered buying several more pairs to give out as Christmas gifts in December. These gloves are very nice and can be dressed up or down. Five out of five stars is what I give Calvin Klein's Pop Top Fingerless Gloves.

Book Review: Dirty Thirty (Stephanie Plum, #30) by Janet Evanovich Dirty Thirty (Stephanie Plum, #30) by Janet Evanovich  is the latest installment in the Stephanie Plum book series and opens with Joe Morelli asking Stephanie to dog sit his dog Bob while he is out of town testifying at a trial.  The typical chaos ensues when Stephanie has to bring Bob along to apprehend all of her FTAs and has her asking herself if she wants to be married. Each book in this series typically follows the same formula and is wrapped up in a neat, tidy bow at the end.  It's because of this that I enjoy the series . . . I always know that Stephanie is going to get herself into some sort of trouble and need Ranger or Morelli to help her, and the bad guy is always caught.  Sometimes, I just need something familiar and predictable to read.  And, I don't mean that in a bad way either because it allows me to escape reality and gives me a few chuckles along the way.  It's like the ...

The Business Trip by Jessie Garcia is about two women from Madison who are completely different from one another and are on an airplane bound for Denver, Colorado. Jasmine is a waitress and is escaping an abusive relationship. Stephanie is a news director for a local news station headed to a news conference.
