The Light from my Menorah, Celebrating Holidays Around the World  by Robin Heald and Andrea Blinck is a children's book about a boy being taken around the world via the light from his menorah. In his travels, he visits different holiday festivals. Thank you, NetGalley, for the Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) of this book. I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review. I think it's important for children to learn about other holidays around the world in a fun way. However, I expected a little more description during the actual story to correspond with the illustrations instead of it being included in the author's note. I feel like the adults will have to explain the point of the book to children. With that being said, the writing was absolutely beautiful, and the illustrations are fantastic. Book Review: One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke

One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke opens with six friends arriving in Greece to celebrate an upcoming wedding. Each one of the women have a secret, and one of them is determined to make sure the wedding doesn't happen. And, one of them ends up dead.

Thank you to NetGalley, Penguin Group Putnam, and G.P. Putnam's Sons for a digital Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) of One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke. I was ecstatic to be selected to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

Wow! I'm at a loss of what to say about One of the Girls because it was that fantastic. Fun. Engrossing. Well Written. Unputdownable. These are just a few words I'd use to describe this novel. 

There were red herrings galore. With that being said, I had my suspicions that the "killer" was one of two people, and one of them ended up being the killer, so I was happy with my deduction. On the other hand, I couldn't figure out who the victim was going to be, and I was completely surprised by who it was. I loved the fact that everyone in One of the Girls had a secret that they were hiding and several of those secrets ended up connecting together.

Prior to receiving this book from NetGalley, I wasn't familiar with the author Lucy Clarke, but now, I am a huge fan. I can't wait to read the other books she's written, and I'm looking forward to reading any new books she publishes. Five out of five stars is what I gave One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke.

Hidden Beneath (Maine Clambake Mystery, #11) by Barbara Ross is the story about Julia and her mother Jacqueline attending a memorial service on Chipmunk Island for Ginny, who was an old friend of Jacqueline.  When something seems off at the memorial, Julia decides to delve into the cold case of Ginny, and in the process of the investigation, a murder takes place on the island. Book Review: Dirty Thirty (Stephanie Plum, #30) by Janet Evanovich

Dirty Thirty (Stephanie Plum, #30) by Janet Evanovich is the latest installment in the Stephanie Plum book series and opens with Joe Morelli asking Stephanie to dog sit his dog Bob while he is out of town testifying at a trial.  The typical chaos ensues when Stephanie has to bring Bob along to apprehend all of her FTAs and has her asking herself if she wants to be married. Each book in this series typically follows the same formula and is wrapped up in a neat, tidy bow at the end.  It's because of this that I enjoy the series . . . I always know that Stephanie is going to get herself into some sort of trouble and need Ranger or Morelli to help her, and the bad guy is always caught.  Sometimes, I just need something familiar and predictable to read.  And, I don't mean that in a bad way either because it allows me to escape reality and gives me a few chuckles along the way.  It's like the comfort food of books for me.
