Witch and Tell (Witch Way Librarian Mysteries, #7)  by Angela M. Sanders   opens with librarian Josie Way's magic being on the fritz. Josie is also in a bit of a funk since her boyfriend, Sam, ghosted her after she told him she's a witch. To top things off, Josie wakes up in the middle of the night to find a body in the atrium of the library, only to have it disappear again after calling the cops. Why is there such bad energy surrounding the town of Wilfred, and why do bad things keep happening? First and foremost, a big thank you goes out to NetGalley for approving my request for an Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) of this novel. I was thrilled to receive a digital copy for free in exchange for my honest review. Book Review: The Photographer by Barbara Steiner

book review the photographer barbara stiener
The Photographer by Barbara Steiner is a Young Adult (YA) Horror Novel that was originally published in 1989 and is about a new kid named Derrick joining the photography club and student newspaper. Megan, who also belongs to both clubs, has been having strange dreams since he has arrived. When Derrick starts taking photos of the prettiest girls in school for the newspaper, Megan's dreams start coming true. She must prove that Derrick has something to do with it.

On Friday, September 13, 2024, I was looking for a short spooky book to read. I came across The Photographer while researching what books the author had written and decided to read it. And, it definitely fit the bill for a spooky read.

The more I read of the book, the more the book sounded familiar, so I think I had read The Photographer before. It does have some sci-fi elements to it to go along with the horror elements. This is one of those books that is the epitomy of YA Horror in the 1980's.

With that being said, I was a little disappointed in the story. I expected it to be better, especially since I remember reading another of her books and loving it. Three out of five stars is what I gave The Photographer by Barbara Steiner. Despite the rating, I think kids 11 & older would really enjoy this book.
