Book Review: The First Ladies by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray

The First Ladies by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray is a historical fiction novel that spans many years and tells of the friendship between former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt and civil rights activist Mary McLeod Bethune. I don't know if I would have picked up this book if it hadn't been the August selection for one of the book clubs I belong to in my area because I don't read a lot of historical fiction. However, I am so glad that I read it and was able to learn many things I hadn't learned about in any of my history classes.  I don't recall learning anything about Mary McLeod Bethune, and she is an important part of American history. The things she helped spearhead to provide African American people equal rights is quite impressive. One of the things I was horrified to learn about is Franklin D. Product Review: Emergen-C Immune Plus 1,000 mg Vitamin C Plus Vitamin D & Zinc, Raspberry

product review emergenc immune plusInfluenster.com sent me a Vox Box with quite a few samples for free in exchange for my honest review. One of the samples that I received was Emergen-C Immune Plus 1,000 mg Vitamin C Plus Vitamin D & Zinc, Raspberry Flavor.

The instructions on the packet said to add the mix to 4-6 ounces of water, or if you wanted a lighter flavor, to add more water. I wanted a lighter flavor so I added the Emergen-C Immune Plus package to a 16.9 ounce bottle of water. The first sip tasted okay, but as I continued to drink more, it had a very medicinal taste, and I didn't taste much Raspberry flavor. I guess that is because I used more water. The color of the drink was similar to the color of Dubble Bubble Bubble Gum.

If you have a sensitive stomach like I do, you may want to make sure you don't drink this on an empty stomach. I have issues with Zinc upsetting my stomach if I don't have food before hand. With that being said, I love the fact that this product has vitamin c, vitamin d, and zinc in it as I'm all for supplementing my diet with vitamins.

Four out of five stars is what I give Emergen-C Immune Plus 1,000 mg Vitamin C Plus Vitamin D & Zinc due it having a medicinal taste. However, with that being said, I will give some of their other flavors a try to see how they taste before making my mind up completely about this product.
