The Fair Weather Friend  by Jessie Garcia  opens with Faith Richards, a popular meteorologist in Detroit, never returning back to the news station after her dinner break. The next day, her news station releases a story that she's been found, strangled to death not far from the station. The Fair Weather Friend , as Richards is referred to by adoring fans, had some deep, dark secrets. As those skeletons come to light, other peoples' lives start to unravel, and things are not what they seem. I'd like to thank NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for approving my request for an Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) of Jessie Garcia's The Fair Weather Friend . A digital copy was provided to me for free in exchange for my honest review. All opinions of the novel are my own. We All Stir The Pot To End Hunger!

is a thoughtful children’s picture book set inside a food pantry in an unnamed city. Through simple, relatable storytelling, the book shows how people from all walks of life come together to support their community, whether by donating food, volunteering their time, or helping in any way they can. The message is clear and hopeful: everyone has something to contribute, and even small actions can make a big difference in the fight against hunger.

I was thrilled when I was approved by NetGalley and Paw Prints Publishing to receive a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Although it was originally expected to be published on November 15, We All Stir The Pot To End Hunger! was officially released on November 29, 2022, and it was well worth the wait.

This children’s book is filled with meaningful life lessons presented in a way that is easy for young readers to understand and connect with. Thankfully, the message never feels preachy or heavy-handed. Instead, it gently encourages empathy, kindness, and community involvement. The illustrations are vibrant, engaging, and full of warmth, perfectly complementing the story and helping bring the food pantry setting to life. It’s an excellent book for helping children understand that some families struggle with food insecurity and that helping others is something everyone can take part in.

One of the aspects I appreciated most is that a portion of the proceeds from the book supports the mission of Feeding America, reinforcing the real-world impact behind the story. As an added bonus, the book includes family-friendly recipes at the end, giving readers a fun and practical way to continue the conversation about food, sharing, and helping others at home.

I give We All Stir The Pot To End Hunger! by Misty Lee Coolidge with Bobbie Bensur five out of five stars. It’s a heartfelt, beautifully illustrated children’s picture book that tackles an important topic with compassion, making it a wonderful addition to home, school, and library collections.
